Key Concepts

  • • Charles's Law: at constant pressure, V ∝ T (temperature in Kelvin)
  • • Lines extrapolate to V = 0 at T = 0 K — this defines absolute zero
  • • T(K) = T(°C) + 273.15; always use Kelvin in gas law calculations
  • • Higher pressure → smaller volume at the same temperature (lower isobar)
